Altos de Chavon and Buggy Itinerary:

Stop 1: stop at a typical country plantation for a brief introduction to some of the most recognizable natural products of the Dominican Republic: cacao, coffee, tobacco and Mamajuana (a local aphrodisiac elixir) Yes, you can drink and drive here – we won No count … back to the rough road and then …

Stop 2: stop at a typical country plantation for a brief introduction to some of the most recognizable natural products of the Dominican Republic: cacao, coffee, tobacco and Mamajuana (a local aphrodisiac elixir) Yes, you can drink and drive here – we won No count … back to the rough road and then …

Stop 3: descend into a cold and dark cave with a calm underground lagoon perfect for swimming. Take a dip and wash some of that crap! So the longest leg of your excursion also provides the most contrast. From the sleepy cave of the countryside, we retrace our dirty path, and further, to a photogenic Caribbean beach. What else did you expect?

Stop 4: Sunbathe on Macao Beach. One of Punta Cana’s last “free” coastal ranges, Macao is a tropical utopia with golden sands, limp coconut trees, and turquoise waters.

CLIFF NOTES:

Breaking into distant farmland, visiting a picturesque country ranch, bathing in the groundwater of a natural cave, and lounging in the sun on Macao Beach.
